RACINE, WI – June 20, 2000 – Waste XPress is the name now being used to better communicate the features of its pulper-type equipment available from the Commercial Products Group of In-Sink-Erator.

In-Sink-Erator's Waste XPress Food Waste Reduction System processes both food waste and liquids, as well as such common kitchen wastes as cardboard, paper products and plastic utensils. Unlike conventional pulpers, however, Waste XPress units do not require cardboard to clean the system.

Solid wastes exit the Waste XPress reduced up to 85 percent of original volume, reducing 10 bags of waste to less than two, reducing hauling costs, and significantly improving kitchen and dumpster sanitation. Waste ground by these products is squeezed nearly dry in the dewatering system, sparking the name that accurately conveys these units' operation.

"Our products operate differently from traditional 'pulpers,' and have some very distinctive advantages over them," said Bill Sobanski, Sales and Marketing Director for the commercial products group. "Our new name, Waste XPress, conveys not only the speed at which our units can reduce large amounts of kitchen waste, but also ease of cleaning and trouble-free operation."

Waste XPress units are available in self-contained (Model WXC-500), trough mount (Model WXT-500), or trough mount with recirculating pump types (Model WXTR-500). They are capable of processing up to 900 lbs. per hour of food scraps, paper placemats, napkins, sugar and jelly packets, beverage cartons, cups and drinking straws. All models feature space-saving footprints, stainless steel cabinets, and pre-plumbed construction.

Located in Racine, WI, In-Sink-Erator Division - Emerson Electric Co. is the world's largest manufacturer of residential and commercial food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers.
