TransAct Technologies To Provide Ithaca 8040 Printer For Leading Global Food Service Retailer

Hamden, CT - TransAct Technologies Incorporated, a global leader in market-specific printers for transaction-based industries, recently announced that the Company has been selected by a leading global quick service restaurant retailer to provide its new Ithaca 8040 thermal printer to approximately 11,000 of its United States locations for the retailer's new coffee and beverage initiative. Once again, the Company will partner with NCR Corporation to provide an integrated printer and paper solution, building on last April's initial agreement with the retailer.

The new Ithaca 8040 prints a two-inch wide receipt that will adhere to the customer's coffee or beverage cup, making it simple for employees behind the counter to more quickly and efficiently process the customer's order. The rollout of the Ithaca 8040 will occur throughout the year to various franchise locations, with some franchisees ordering one to two printers per store.

"We are excited to start off the new year with the news we have been selected once again by this food service retailer to provide them our new Ithaca 8040 printer," said Bart C. Shuldman, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TransAct Technologies. "Franchisees that have tested this printer have been pleased with the results as it has provided them with an easy solution to enhance their operations and provide optimal service for the customer. We are extremely pleased to now be able to provide the Ithaca 8040 to almost all of this retailer's U.S. locations. Further, we are pleased to add to our relationship with the quick service retailer and NCR, which has already benefited all involved companies since the advent of this relationship last year. We look forward to growing this relationship through 2009 and beyond."
