The unique design of these Vanton thermoplastic ANSI end suction magnetically driven pumps incorporates an independent fresh water flushing arrangement which simultaneously cools the inner magnet, lubricates the stationary and rotating sleeve bearings, and prevents settling of abrasive particles. This controlled flow of clear liquid keeps the bearings clean and prevents build-up of debris that may be in the suction line.

In addition to extending bearing life, the continuous flow of clear liquid between the containment can and the inner, thermoplastic encapsulated magnets keeps these magnets cool and extends normal service life. Since the design eliminates metal components by utilizing a dual nonmetallic containment can, troublesome eddy currents are avoided and maximum magnet efficiency is assured.

According to Dan Besic, Chief Engineer of Vanton Pump & Equipment Corp., this design feature is available in all sizes of the Vanton Chem-Gard© - CGM thermoplastic magnetically driven ANSI centrifugal pumps -- including 1'/Zxlx6, 3x2x6, 3x2x8, 4x3x8, 4x3x9 and 4x3x10. The pumps are furnished with high performance rare earth magnets rated to 45hp, for flows to 600 gpm at heads to 280 feet.

The casings, stationary bearing housings and impellers of Vanton mag drive pumps are furnished in solid, molded polypropylene (PP) or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). These are not lined pumps and no metal is ever in contact with the fluid. The use of metal armor provides structural protection and permits the pumps to withstand the same nozzle loadings as metal ones meeting ANSI process pump standards. The pumps are suitable for handling a wide range of corrosive, abrasive, hazardous and toxic process fluids and waste streams, as well as ultrapure water, chemicals and pharmaceuticals at temperatures to 275°F (135°C).
