Source: Takara Sake USA, Inc
Takara Sake USA Inc., was established in 1982 in Berkeley, California as a subsidiary of Takara Shuzo Company, Ltd., a leading alcoholic beverage manufacturer in Japan. The main products produced in Berkeley are the "Sho Chiku Bai" brand of sake (Classic, Extra-dry, Sierra Cold Sake, Ginjo, Nigori), "Takara Plum" (plum wine) and "Takara Mirin"(cooking sake). The following products are imported from our parent company in Japan: Baisho Zukuri Sake, Dai Ginjo Sake, Takara Jun Shochu and Yokaichi (distilled spirits).

With over 140 distributors selling our product in the United States, Canada and Europe, Takara Sake has used its foothold in Berkeley, California to establish itself as the leading sake manufacturer in the United States.

As the sake market continues to expand, we have completed a plant expansion in November 1997 to significantly increase our production capacity. We also have completed construction of our newly renovated Tasting Room and Sake Museum. It is our hope to introduce the public not only to different types of sake but also to Japanese culture through our facilities.
