SYSCO Enhances Specialty Meat Distribution Reach With Addition Of Facciola Meat Company

Houston - SYSCO Corporation, North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, today announced it has acquired Facciola Meat Company, a specialty meat and seafood distributor located in Fremont, California. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1971, Facciola Meat Company has grown to become the largest independent distributor in northern California. The company is a Certified Angus Beef distributor, employing 131 associates at its 108,000-square-foot warehouse and processing facility. Facciola Meat Company provides premium quality fresh fish, poultry and other frozen and refrigerated food products to restaurants, hotels and other foodservice operations in northern California, Hawaii and Nevada. For calendar year 2004 Facciola Meat Company generated approximately $82 million in sales.

Richard J.
