Ruby Tuesday's Radiant over New Software Choice

Ruby Tuesday, Inc., which operates approximately 400 Ruby Tuesday, American Café and Tia's Tex-Mex restaurants, announced Friday it will upgrade site and corporate management software at all of its owned and domestic franchise locations.

Ruby Tuesday will replace a proprietary in-house system with Lighthouse Site and Headquarters software from Radiant Systems, Atlanta, GA. The restaurant company has been doing business with Radiant since 1997.

Ruby Tuesday anticipates the new software to significantly reduce administrative tasks performed by restaurant management teams by delivering more accurate and timely information and analysis. The software will also enhance management-both site and corporate--visibility and control over food and labor costs.

"Competition in the restaurant market is fierce. To deliver higher levels of value to customers while increasing profitability requires that restaurants relentlessly manage their food and labor costs. Our solution will give Ruby Tuesday new tools to manage these costs, and assist them in achieving a solid return on investment," said Pete Reilly, vice president and managing director, Food Service Global Solutions for Radiant Systems, in a Friday announcement.

Using data collected from the point of sale, the Radiant Systems' Lighthouse solution ties together inventory, food costs, labor and financial management in a uniform and cohesive application. The solution addresses a wide range of operational issues and integrates with a variety of systems - including point of sale, accounting and food distributor applications. With daily information flowing to the headquarters system from the site, Ruby Tuesday will be able to make decisions based on accurate, timely information.
