Quaker Steak & Lube Revs Up Credit Card Transaction Security And PCI Compliance With Vendor Safe

Vendor Safe Technologies announces that America's #1 motorsports theme family restaurant, Quaker Steak & Lube, has signed a five-year agreement with Vendor Safe to implement a single source Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) compliance solution. Utilizing the Vendor Safe suite of PCI compliance programs, The Lube, as it is known, will secure its credit card transaction processing and achieve the lowest total cost of ownership for PCI compliance.

"Vendor Safe's proven ability to deploy this versatile PCI compliance program within 30 days was a key ingredient in our decision," said Ken Cole, CEO of Quaker Steak and Lube. "The combination of their technology and restaurant expertise provides an all-in-one PCI compliant solution at an affordable price. We signed the agreement on April 3rd and Vendor Safe implemented the compliance program on April 22nd - less than 30 days."

"With more than 30 locations spread across the United States, The Lube needed a consistent PCI compliance solution that could be implemented easily without interrupting business," said Chris Melson, CEO of Vendor Safe Technologies. "Our patent-pending, network architecture requires no changes to the LAN or WAN, and eliminates the need for an on-site technician. If a store manager can plug in two Ethernet connections and a power cord while we assist him on the phone, then the location can be secured quickly."

The PCI Managed Security portfolio enables restaurants and other credit card merchants to secure their environment, going beyond the PCI standard. Vendor Safe's solutions include:

  • Global Security Mesh/ VPN, a managed gateway solution providing best-in-class security.
  • IP Data Blocker, prevents data transmission to unauthorized IP addresses.
  • Rogue Device Manager, issues alerts to the IT staff when any device is added to the LAN.
  • HotSpot Plus, a robust wireless solution with four segregated wireless networks.
  • Vulnerability Scans, proactively identify weaknesses with an all-inclusive assessment and are Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) program compliant; internal and external scanning available.
  • SAQuick Questionnaire, lets merchants easily complete the Self-Assessment Questionnaire and Attestation of Compliance required by the PCI DSS with an automated, online questionnaire.
  • TrustVault Certificate, covers up to $50,000 in direct breach related expenses.
