Ohman Family Living To Provide Enhanced Dining Services With New Food Service Partnership

Culinary Services Group will oversee the dietary department at all three Ohman Locations.

Middlefield, OH (PRWEB) - Ohman Family Living is partnering with food management company, Culinary Services Group (CSG) to provide an enhanced dining program at their three Ohio locations: Briar, Holly, and Blossom. The food service partnership will allow each community to provide customized menus tailored to the needs and preferences of their residents. Each location will work closely with an onsite dietitian and CSG’s larger network of dietitians to ensure optimal nutritional care for every resident. Culinary Services Group will also provide food procurement, an additional level of compliance support, as well as self-auditing measures to align with the Department of Health’s safety guidelines. All three locations should be fully transitioned to CSG by the end of August.

“When my parents established Ohman Family Living’s first location at Holly Hill, it was important to them that the residents experienced a home-like atmosphere,” said George Ohman, president of Ohman Family Living. “Essential to their vision was food that was nutritious and tasty, appealing to all the senses. As our organization has grown from one small location to three, with multiple areas of specialty and customization—even within our dietary department—we recognized that partnering with a like-minded organization that could focus solely on quality meals, hiring and developing our staff, as well as caring for health department compliance would be the next logical step.”

This partnership marks the first time the Ohman Family Living communities have outsourced food services. As a family-owned organization, they wanted to partner with a privately-owned company that also had strong ties to family. Food service is a family business for Rich Valway, owner and CEO of Culinary Services Group, who grew up working in his family’s restaurant in Vermont. “During my 20-plus years in providing food service to senior living communities, it’s always been my belief that better food creates better outcomes for residents. It’s our goal to create meals and experiences that residents look forward to. Dining services play such an integral role in the lives of residents.” With CSG, Ohman location residents will enjoy homecooked, from-scratch meals made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, as part of their food-first approach to nutrition.

Culinary Services Group is a rapidly growing food service provider in the state of Ohio. The company has seen a renewed interest in the senior living market for contract food management as many communities work to rebuild census numbers post-COVID, and plan for the future of senior living. The Ohman family are thought leaders in the senior care marketplace. They have been early adopters of the coordination of care for residents, remote monitoring by physicians, and other new initiatives, but food is at the heart of the family-centered atmosphere and home-like environment they provide to their residents. A partnership with Culinary Services Group will provide them with systems, technology, and support to create a state-of-the-art dining program.
