The machines are designed, especially for high to medium to high volume espresso bars and cafes. However, the application in restaurants is also recommended. The basic difference between the M31 Series and M28 is cost, a partial high-grade plastic body versus metal, and some standard features.
There are two different series, the Selectron, which has programmable dose settings and the Basic, which has electronically controlled manual operation. Both series are virtually identical in all other regards in performance and design. These machines also have some of the highest watts per liter heating elements in the industry, thus making recovery time virtually unrecognizable.
In addition, the Full-Size, M28 series machines are outfitted with three specific design features which make the stand far above the competition. They are as follows:
- Patented Heat-Exchanger Design - This patented design has both immediate and long term benefits. The immediate benefit is consistent delivery of desired brewing temperature. The long term benefit is that the heat exchangers can be removed, not welded into the boiler as in other machines, and cleaned to insure your customers investment and the consistency of the brew temperature.
- Low-Voltage Pressure Gauge - This gauge operates under low-voltage thus reducing carbon build up on pressure gauge contacts which lead to higher energy usage and reduced efficiency which results in lower recovery times. This gauge is somewhat more reactive than the standard gauges used in many other machines.
- Removable Boiler Plate - This design feature enables future service, i.e. descaling of the boiler to be virtually 100% based on the fact that once the boiler plate is removed in conjunction with the heat exchangers the boiler is free and for a technician to service without obstruction.
