With separate beginnings, Fritz Bernegger and Elias Kahn founded their own companies based on ambitious entrepreneurial spirits and became successful by producing innovative, quality, and tasty meat products. In 1988 the two companies merged under their parent, Sara Lee Corporation. Together the two companies have reached new levels of success and continue to grow.

Over the years, Hillshire Farm and Kahn's (HF&K) has established an outstanding reputation for wholesome, quality products. Hillshire Farm remains one of the leading brands of the Sara Lee Corporation. This success is due to the most important resources HF&K has, it's human resources. With three operating facilities - New London, WI; Cincinnati, OH; and Claryville, KY - HF&K employs approximately 2,600 people. In addition, understanding of our core business, quality meat production, is a highly valued attribute. The goal of these 2,600 employees is to work together toward continued success.
